State Police on campus July 29

Bomb squad unit to give presentation to New Arc Academy camp

Members of the University of Delaware community who see the Delaware State Police bomb squad unit on campus on Friday, July 29, need not be worried. The police will be at UD as part of the New Arc Academy summer camp, scheduled from July 25-Aug. 5.

During that morning, the State Police bomb squad unit will be giving a presentation to summer camp students in the courtyard of the Willard Hall Education Building on West Main Street. The squad’s truck will be parked outside the building, and the unit’s robot and dogs will be participating.

The New Arc Academy gives students in grades four through seven the opportunity to become forensic detectives as they solve criminal and historic mysteries.

In the event of rain on July 29, the camp session will move inside the Hall Education Building.

Signs will be posted in the area to inform the community about the reason for the police presence in the area.

Anyone with questions should contact University of Delaware Police at 302-831-2222.
