Student Life candidate review
December 12, 2016
Input sought on finalists for assistant vp for student life diversity and inclusion to give presentations
As part of the search for the new position of assistant vice president for student life diversity and inclusion at the University of Delaware, three finalists visited the campus over the last two weeks and gave public presentations on their visions for furthering a welcoming community.
The three candidates are
• Joya A. Crear, associate dean for university life at George Mason University;
• Jane N. Irungu, assistant vice president for student engagement at the University of Oregon; and
• Stephanie H. Chang, director of the Multicultural Education Department at Guilford College.
Each of the presentations was videotaped, and members of the University community are invited to review them at a special Student Life website. To access this site, UDelNet ID and password are required.
To assist the search committee, those who attended the presentations or viewed them online are asked to submit online evaluations at this link by Friday, Dec. 16.
Located within the Division of Student Life, the new position will lead diversity priorities related to the student experience and will work with all campus units to advance goals for creating a diverse, welcoming and engaging environment.
The search committee is being chaired by José-Luis Riera, dean of students.
