Assessment Approach
My approach to assessment and testing might be best described as a weaving together of evidence-based assessment, pragmaticism and person-centered. While striving to understand the student’s challenges and concerns, I collect information in multiple ways through multiple perspectives. I enjoy writing reports that are tailored to answer the student’s questions and explaining the complex information in a way that is most meaningful to the student.
Supervision Approach
In supervision of assessment, I spent a good deal of time on the “front end,” understanding the supervisee’s past experiences and skill level as well as their goals for training. Taken together, we can create an individualized training plan for assessment that is both effective and fun! I hope trainees leave the experience with a newfound enjoyment for psychological assessment.
