Faculty, Staff celebrated with Excellence Awards at All College meeting

Each spring, the College of Health Sciences Faculty and Staff Excellence Awards recognize the outstanding contributions of faculty and staff, highlighting the dedication and innovative spirit that drive CHS forward.

Sheau Ching Chai, Associate Professor of Health Behavior and Nutrition Sciences and Chair of the Awards Committee, stressed the importance of recognizing excellence on all levels.

"When people feel appreciated, they are more likely to be engaged, productive, and committed to their roles,” Chai said. “These awards inspire us to strive for continuous improvement and impact in our respective fields and contribute to advancing the college and the wider community."

The 2024 winners were announced at the Spring All College Meeting on May 17.

"Recognizing the exceptional contributions of our dedicated staff and faculty through these excellence awards not only highlights their achievements but also underscores our collective commitment to fostering innovation and academic excellence,” said CHS Dean Bill Farquhar. “These awards celebrate the tireless efforts and unwavering passion that continue to move the College forward.”

Excellence in Teaching Award: David Ebaugh, Professor of Physical Therapy and Director of the Human Anatomy Lab

Excellence in Service Award: Nancy Getchell, Professor of Kinesiology and Applied Physiology

Interim dean named for College of Health Sciences

Jillian Trabulsi, chair of the University of Delaware’s Department of Health Behavior and Nutrition Sciences since 2021, has been named interim dean of the College of Health Sciences, President Dennis Assanis and Provost Laura Carlson announced today. Trabulsi will serve as interim dean as Bill Farquhar, current dean of the College, steps into the interim provost role, effective July 1.
