M.S. in Athletic Training

“I played sports in high school, but I wasn’t good enough to play in college, which was fine and I accepted that pretty early on. But I knew I wanted to do something in the athletic field. Once I got into the athletic training program at the University of Delaware, that was it. I realized that this is what I want to do.

Since I’m a senior, I’m working with the same team throughout the whole year. This is actually my second year with Delaware Football, so I’m really excited about working with the team again. I’m with the offensive line group this year. I follow them around, give them water, fix their braces and help them out with any treatment they need. We help with the whole team, but when it comes to the offensive linemen, I get first dibs to help them.

One of the reasons I chose athletic training was because I knew if I wasn’t going to be able to play college sports, I wanted to help other people continue to play. Even if it’s just making an ice bag for someone after practice - if that's what they need to get them through and come back the next day and keep playing - that's why I come in every day and try my best to help them.

Eventually, I would like to give the NFL a shot. For pretty much all my life, college football has been my favorite thing to watch and consume, so if I could continue my professional career at that level, and just being a part of the team and be able to help all of them, I would really like that.”
