Enhance online teaching and learning
December 09, 2025
UD's Elevate Online Learning program begins Jan. 2, registration ends Dec. 22
Faculty, instructors, staff and graduate students teaching with Canvas at the University of Delaware are encouraged to register for its newly launched Elevate Online Learning program before the Dec. 22 deadline register for the Elevate Online Learning program.
The Elevate Online Learning program is a three-month course designed by UD’s Center for Innovative Lifelong Learning and Teaching, consisting of three tracks combining online teaching practices with hands-on use of UD digital tools to help instructors create clear, engaging and well-organized courses that support student success.
Track A: Elevate with UD Digital Tools, which begins on Jan. 2, and is a self-paced course designed to improve familiarity with UD-supported digital tools and gain foundational knowledge in building effective Canvas course sites. Its practical learning experience helps participants explore tools, apply strategies in real contexts and build confidence in course site design and setup.
Participants also learn to:
Customize course set-up and navigation items
Create, organize and share content with students
Use Canvas integrated media tools to enhance teaching and learning
Using a staging course, participants will build a version of their Canvas site with subject matter that they plan to teach. Work completed in the staging site can be copied into an actual course shell for use with students.
Each track awards a digital badge that can be used, for example, by faculty in promotion and tenure dossiers to demonstrate online teaching expertise or by graduate students showcasing their online teaching experience.
