Feb 10: Get prepared for in-classroom instruction
January 31, 2022
Classroom Technology Orientation Session to help instructors prepare for the spring semester
UD Information Technology University Media Services (IT-UMS) will be hosting an open-house Classroom Orientation Session on Feb. 10, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at 116 Willard Hall Education Building (16 West Main St.).
This session is open to anyone teaching in a centrally scheduled classroom and is designed to help instructors identify what adapters they may need to connect their device(s) to the room equipment, identify the best way to manage student presentations, ensure that their device(s) are connected to the network correctly and much more. Instructors should be aware that IT-UMS has upgraded many of the centrally scheduled classrooms with new technology like Zoom Hybrid rooms, document cams and HDMI. Attending an orientation session can help instructors learn these new tools and get the most out of the classroom experience.
During the open house, instructors can expect to spend about 10 to 15 minutes learning about tech in the classroom and then the IT-UMS team will spend as much time as needed answering questions and helping instructors get set up for the first day of in-person classes.
These sessions are in collaboration with UD’s workshop series, Keep Calm and Teach On, designed to prepare instructors for the coming semester.
All sessions are hosted at 116 Willard Hall Education Building (16 West Main St.), and we encourage you to bring your laptop and/or device with you to the session.
Attendees will need to log in to ConnectingU to register.
