Summer Institute on Teaching
May 22, 2020
UD's Faculty Commons will host the event virtually on June 3
The University of Delaware's Faculty Commons Summer Institute on Teaching (SIT) will move to an online format and be held on Wednesday, June 3. The change reflects the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on normal campus operations.
During this condensed institute, attendees can join several peer-led sessions that will highlight high quality teaching, and address questions and issues related to teaching and learning in the current environment.
Derek Bruff, director of the Vanderbilt University Center for Teaching, is scheduled to give the keynote address. There will be two sets of concurrent sessions facilitated by UD faculty and staff. The planned topics include reducing anxiety in the classroom, designing a podcast project for students and specifications grading.
All presentations and sessions will be conducted via Zoom. Visit the SIT website for more details on sessions and to register, https://sites.udel.edu/sit/.
