Workshop Series for Instructors on Teaching Research
January 29, 2020
Explore strategies for helping students become better researchers
Inside and outside of higher education, students face challenges when it comes to finding, evaluating and using information effectively. For instructors, it can be difficult to help students navigate an unfamiliar and complex scholarly research process while also addressing the information skills they will need after they leave the college environment.
The Teaching Research in Undergraduate Education (TRUE) Workshop series equips instructors with support, tools and strategies to help their students become better researchers in academic, personal and professional contexts. The sessions take place each Tuesday from Feb. 25 to March 24 from 3:30-5 p.m. in Morris Library.
Through activities and group discussions, participants have the opportunity to hone their teaching skills and connect with an array of instructors and graduate students from across the University. During the last week of the series, participants will workshop their own classroom activities.
UD instructors, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers and other early career professionals are invited to participate. There are also opportunities to lead one of the workshop activities and discussions.
The TRUE Workshop series is a collaboration between the Library, Museums and Press, and the Department of English.
