2019 Course Design Institute

CTAL's 3-Day Intensive Course Design Institute is June 11-13. Applications now accepted.

Join colleagues from across the University of Delaware to work on a new or existing course as a participant in Course Design Institute (CDI) with the Center for Teaching and Assessment of Learning (CTAL).

This three-day institute will provide a personalized course design experience where you will be supported by CTAL and other Faculty Commons Partners to create a new course or revise an existing one. During this workshop, you’ll create: New or revised student learning outcomes (SLOs), a major final assignment that emerges from those SLOs, a plan for scaffolding activities that prepare students for to your major assignment, the beginnings of a schedule and syllabus for your course based on the UD Syllabus tool.

Our institute will take place each day from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. We’ll provide coffee and a light breakfast, as well as lunch on all three days. All participants are expected to attend the complete program. All who teach at UD are welcome to apply (including adjuncts and graduate students), though applicants must have a course on the books for Fall 2019 or Spring 2020 that they wish to design.

The Summer Course Design Institute is limited to 30 participants.
A select number of seats will be reserved for new faculty who arrived in the summer of 2018.

Dates: June 11-13, 2019. For further information, please visit: https://ctal.udel.edu/programs/cdi/
