CFA, Visitors Center parking to go gateless

Payment to be available at pay-by-plate kiosks

The University of Delaware Center for the Arts parking garage and Lot 41 Visitors Center parking will go gateless beginning Monday, Aug. 28.

The gate arms will be removed from the entrances and exits. As a result of this change, instead of paying when exiting, hourly customers will be required to pay upon arrival at the lot. Permit holders will enter and exit freely with no need to swipe or tap their UD ID cards.

To pay for parking, hourly customers will use one of the pay-by-plate kiosks.

Users will enter their vehicle license plate and choose the length of time for parking. The kiosks will accept exact cash payments, credit cards and validation codes. The kiosks will not accept coins or make change.

As an alternative option for technology savvy customers, the PassPort parking app can be used to pay for parking. The zone for the Center for the Arts garage is 1663, and Lot 41 Visitors Center is Zone 1665.

Parkers who take advantage of the 15 minutes of complimentary parking will be able to use the 15-minute spaces added to each lot.
