Mitchell Hall project

Repair work underway on Mitchell Hall ramp

This summer, repairs are underway to the ADA ramp located on the south side of the University of Delaware’s Mitchell Hall on The Green.

Over the years, freezing rain and ice have affected the joints between the concrete walk pads and the brick walls on the side of the ramp.

On Saturday, June 18, the work site will be noisy as jackhammers are used to demolish the existing concrete deck.

A drainage system and new pavers will be installed in place of the previous walk surface so that, in the future, winter rains will drain quicker, avoiding freeze damage.

During the three- to four-week project, a temporary ADA ramp will be available at the side entrance. Fencing around the perimeter of the project will reduce the width of the walking path by a foot or two.
