Short courses in English writing, grammar, reading to be offered
Starting in January, the University of Delaware Graduate Communication Support Initiative will offer graduate students short courses in academic English writing, grammar and reading.
These modules are designed for matriculated master’s degree and doctoral students who speak English as a second or additional language and who would like to refine their written communication skills.
Each module is free and lasts four weeks. New courses start each month from January to April, 2017. Students can choose from:
• Grammar for Graduate Writers;
• The 3Cs of Graduate Writing: Cohesion, Claims, Concision;
• Reading and Summarizing Research Papers; and
• Writing a Literature Review.
Details and registration are available online.
The Graduate Communication Support Initiative is a collaboration between the English Language Institute, the Office of Graduate and Professional Education, the Writing Center, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering and the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics.
