Areas of Expertise

  • Studies and characterizes materials through the use of infrared and Raman spectroscopy.
  • Recently co-invented a high precision detector that can identify biological and chemical agents. The soon-to-be commercialized device can detect even small amounts of chemical weapons agents in solid, liquid or gas.
  • As co-founder of a start-up company, PAIR Technologies, Rabolt is versed in not just instrument design and construction but also starting and building small businesses. He teaches a course on high-tech entrepreneurship.
  • Can discuss x-ray and thermal analysis of material, directed and self-assembly of thin films, electrospinning of polymer nanofibers and tissue engineering.
