Areas of Expertise
- Major research focus is offshore wind power. Firestone analyzes the feasibility, environmental impacts, capacity and public support/opposition related to offshore wind farms.
- Directs UD's Center for Carbon Free Power Integration and is knowledgeable about renewable energy, climate change policy, wildlife conservation and management.
- An attorney as well as a policy scientist, Firestone served as assistant regional counsel for the EPA and assistant attorney general for the state of Michigan, in the environmental protection and natural resources divisions.
- Can discuss U.S. environmental law, international law, renewable energy policy and indigenous and Native American policy.
