Areas of Expertise
- Research explores disaster vulnerability, response, recovery, resilience and decision-making within larger historical and cultural contexts, including the influence of inequality and power structures.
- Can comment on people’s decision-making in disaster response and recovery and larger contexts that may influence those decisions.
- Has conducted both long-term ethnographic fieldwork and rapid response fieldwork to disasters like flooding and hurricanes in the American Southeast and the false-missile alert in Hawaii.
