Nursing, Nurse-Midwife: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) ONline, Post-master's certificate online
About this program
The nurse-midwifery program prepares safe, competent and evidence-informed nurse-midwives who promote physiologic processes of maturation, reproduction, childbearing and well newborn development through clinical excellence, innovation, family-centered and preventative primary care. Through interprofessional education, appropriate technologic intervention, strategic partnerships and responsive population health initiatives, we support maternal-child health workforce development to improve local, regional and national outcomes.
The program was created to respond to maternal child workforce shortages within Delaware, and therefore the master of science in nursing (MSN) is only offered full time. We recognize that the working nurse has a busy schedule and encourage students to prepare financially for full-time plans of study.
The post-master's nurse midwifery certificate (PMC) program is intended for individuals who already hold a minimum of a master of science in nursing degree and certification/licensing as a nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist with the core courses and clinical experiences necessary for eligibility for advanced certification to become a certified nurse-midwife. The certificate prepares advanced practice clinicians to deliver high-quality care to women across the lifespan and newborns to 28 days of life.
The program is 100% online with two on-campus skill based-intensives.
