Biomechanics and Movement Science

Biomechanics and Movement Science: M.S., Ph.D.

About this Program

The mission of the interdisciplinary program in biomechanics and movement science (BIOMS) is to advance the understanding of complex human systems through the interaction of experts who cross traditional divisions of academic study. We strive to train outstanding researchers who will contribute to the advancement of health science through translational and interdisciplinary research. Research findings are disseminated through peer reviewed publications in high-impact journals and presentations at national and international conferences. In addition, students work with their chosen faculty advisor to design a unique Plan of Study of academic courses to best fit their research interests.

The BIOMS program comprises faculty from the Colleges of Arts & SciencesEngineering and Health Sciences who use an interdisciplinary approach to create a diverse educational and research environment.

As one of the top 100 universities for federal research and development support for STEM research, UD is well-positioned to give students research experience through involvement in over $30 million in federally funded research projects; and through interaction with a variety of interdisciplinary research groups. We invite you to explore our program and discover the rich and diverse opportunities we offer!
