About the Delaware Youth Wind Ensemble

Now accepting registrations for the Fall 1-Day Honor Band, November, 17 2024!

Registration will close 1-week prior to the event.

NEW THIS SEMESTER: DYWE will be joined by the UD Wind Ensemble for a side-by-side experience with UD's premier wind ensemble! This will be a wonderful opportunity for the younger musicians to learn from, and be inspired by, the college students! Time will be allotted for socializing, questions and answers, as well as music-making!

The Delaware Youth Wind Ensemble (DYWE) brings together outstanding high school musicians (grades 8-12) from the greater Delaware area to rehearse and perform exciting and high-quality wind band literature. Open to students who play flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, string bass, piano, and percussion, DYWE offers an enrichment experience aimed to supplement (but not replace) students’ experiences in their own school bands.

DYWE is directed by UD professor and Wind Ensemble conductor Lauren Reynolds. We are also proud to hire UD Music Education students as interns, providing them with developmental job experiences during their college years. When you sign up for CMS, you're not only supporting your own child's music education, you are supporting the next generation of music teachers!

Join us for a day of ensemble playing, small group sectionals, guest performances, DYWE & UD Wind Ensemble collaborations, social time, pizza lunch, and an evening concert!
