The Bachelor of Arts

The bachelor of arts (B.A.) in music degree offers a broad study of music integrated with non-music coursework for a self-designed but structured liberal education program. By selecting complementary classes, a student can create learning experiences that are unique to that student’s academic and professional goals. With successful admission to the program, our B.A. in music students use strategic academic planning to complete the mandatory music core and breadth of study in areas within the College of Arts & Sciences or with other academic programs available at UD.

Academic advisors or career coaches work with each B.A. student individually to identify academic and professional goals that allow students to be intentional with course selection in order to meet degree requirements. It’s never too early to start conversations about how to maximize the flexibility of the B.A. in music curriculum!

A Career Profile is an advising tool that can help B.A. in music students articulate and shape their academic journey. Included here are examples of Career Profiles that previous B.A. in music students have used to meet the specific goals.
