Prepare for Spring Closing

All residents (including those in apartments) are asked to move out of their rooms within 24 hours of their last final exam and must vacate no later than 10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21. Students with certain circumstances, like graduating seniors and those with late final exams can request a late stay. The housing application for newly admitted first year students for Fall 2025 is open! The application can be found at the My Housing Portal and students are encouraged to apply by the priority deadline on May 15, 2025 at 5 p.m. While the application will remain open after May 15, students will not be able to indicate room type interests, request roommates, or apply to an LLC.

Eligible students seeking a housing exemption to live off campus must complete a First Year Exemption Request in the My Housing Portal by May 15 instead of a housing application.

The application for summer session housing is now open! Current undergraduate students at the Newark campus who are either taking at least one in-person summer session course, or an international student unable to travel home. We recommend applying by May 20 for the best consideration as space is limited. Learn more in our application guide.

Students experiencing housing insecurity over the summer should connect with Student Advocacy and Support to get connected to helpful resources. Summer course registration is still required for these students to live in summer school housing. 

The returning student application for next year’s on-campus housing closed on February 28 at 5pm. The late application is now open for eligible students who missed the deadline to apply. Eligible students include current undergraduate students (freshman, sophomore, etc.) and 4+1 or 3+2 students who will return to the Newark campus next year as well as Associate in Arts students transitioning to the Newark campus in the fall. Housing is not guaranteed, but we expect to be able to house many late applicants and will review applications on a rolling basis. The 2025-2026 on-campus housing application for Fall 2025 transfer students (not admitted as a freshman) is available now in the My Housing Portal. Living on campus is not required and typically not guaranteed for transfer students. However, transfer students who apply through June 12, 2025 are guaranteed housing for the upcoming year. Students applying after June 12 are not automatically guaranteed, but we will continue to review applications and guarantee students throughout the summer pending space availability.
