Esports Tryouts
Want to get involved in Blue Hen Esports?
UD Esports is looking to grow its membership for both competitive (players) and noncompetitive (team managers, shoutcasters, broadcast producers and social media team members).
For the 2026–27 season, tryouts will run Tuesday, September 1 through Sunday, September 6. Stay tuned on our website and @bluehenesports on social for more details.
Requirements
Prospective team members must:
- Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA. (First-year students will not have a GPA until after fall semester, but are eligible)
- Uphold the UD Code of Conduct and UD Esports Code of Conduct.
- Be available for practices, VOD review, developmental seminars, strategy sessions and competitions most weeknights between 6–10 p.m. (with some additional weekend times as are deemed necessary).
- Be available for fall season competition.
- Approach or meet the prerequisite ranking level for their chosen title.
- Stay current with their chosen game.
Recommended Minimum Rankings
Please note that you may apply for a tryout even if you don't meet the ranking threshold, depending on the number of applicants.
- Overwatch: Diamond
- Rocket League: Champions
- Valorant: Platinum
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Ranked Preferred
- iRacing: Experience
- Fortnite (New Team): Elite - Compete in Duo ZB or Build and Solo ZB
Women and Non-Binary Teams
- Overwatch: No rank requirement
- Valorant: No rank requirement
