University Student Centers hosted Giancarlo Esposito as part of Geek Week. Giancarlo Esposito is best known for his standout roles in the critically-acclaimed series Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Mandalorian and The Boys. A moderated Q&A was held in the Trabant Multipurpose rooms on March 4th, 2024. Students enjoyed a custom flavor ice cream from UDairy in celebration of Geek Week.

UD's Alternative Spring Break to the Cumberland Trail in Graysville, TN where the students are removing rocks and roots from the trail to make it viable for hikers. So far 190 of the 390 are cleared.

Recreation and Fitness

Campus Recreation offers students opportunities to participate in club sports and intramurals, fitness programs and other outdoor recreation.

The inaugural Climate Change Video Game Jam which focused on oceans, climate, and women leaders was hosted by the Disaster Research Center and was funded by a supplementary grant from the National Science Foundation to connect the DRC’s Coastal Hazards, Equity, Economic prosperity and Resilience (CHEER) Hub to the United Nations Ocean Decade and Playing for the Planet initiative. The event featured the change to play games made during the jam - including one made by UD students - hear talks on video games and culture from UD students and faculty, and a keynote presentation from Carolina Torres, impact producer for E-Line Media.

Esports

The state-of-the-art Esports Arena houses the varsity esports program and is open to all students for recreational play with over 60 game titles.
