Biography

Nair is an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Delaware. Her research focuses on applied analysis, scientific computing, inverse problems and machine learning for physical systems governed by multiscale stochastic partial differential equations. Her recent work includes applications of wave propagation in random media and kinetic theory to optical communication, imaging and materials design.

Before joining UD, Nair was a William H. Kruskal Instructor at the University of Chicago. She earned her doctorate in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2023, where she worked primarily with Qin Li and Samuel Stechmann. She earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering physics from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2018.
