I am currently a graduate student at the University of Delaware.
Where I'm going
I want to build a successful career in business and data analytics while combining my previous fashion and teaching experience.
How did the ELI prepare you for your university studies?When I first started at ELI, I began from Level 1 and gradually studied all the way to Level 6. ELI helped me improve my English skills, especially in communication, writing and classroom discussions. The teachers were very patient and always encouraged me, which helped me become more confident and better prepared for university life.
Did you participate in any student organizations or activities while you were an ELI student or UD undergrad?
As a graduate student at UD, I have participated in some campus activities and group projects. When I was in the ELI, you know, ELI is a place where international students learn language skills, so they organized many interesting activities and events. This helped me make new friends and become more comfortable communicating in English.
What is one of your favorite memories at the ELI?
One of my best memories from the ELI was studying together with classmates from different countries. We supported each other and shared many fun experiences both inside and outside the classroom. I also really appreciated how kind and supportive the teachers were during my time there.
What advice do you have for future students studying at the ELI?
My advice for future ELI students is to not be afraid of making mistakes when speaking English. Try to participate in class activities, communicate more with classmates and teachers, and enjoy the learning process. ELI is a very supportive place, and it can really help you grow both academically and personally. Also, the tutoring classes after class are a great way to improve your speaking skills very quickly!
