Gene Koshinski and Tim Broscious, faculty artists in residence at the University of Delaware’s School of Music, have been making their mark on the global stage through their acclaimed ensemble Quey Percussion Duo. Known for their dynamic performances and groundbreaking compositions, the duo recently returned from two major international tours that showcased their artistry, innovation and impact on contemporary percussion music.

European Tour of Leading Arts Institutions

In September 2025, Koshinski and Broscious embarked on a two-week European tour that brought them to five of the most prestigious arts universities: Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany; Orchesterzentrum NRW in Dortmund, Germany; the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the Netherlands; Karlstad University in Ingesund, Sweden; and the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo.

Each stop featured a combination of workshops, masterclasses and full-length concert presentations, offering an immersive educational and artistic experience.

Featured Performance at the Taihu Classical Music Festival in Beijing

In early October, Koshinski and Broscious traveled to Beijing, China where they performed Koshinski’s original double percussion concerto soniChroma with the Beijing Symphony Orchestra at the second Taihu Classical Music Festival. As the only American musicians invited to participate, their performance stood out as a major highlight, selected as the featured work for the festival’s closing concert.

Organized by the Beijing Symphony, the Taihu Classical Music Festival is a week-long celebration of both traditional and contemporary classical music, drawing artists from across the globe to perform in indoor and outdoor venues throughout Beijing. The Beijing Symphony Orchestra, one of China’s most renowned ensembles, collaborated with the duo in what critics described as a performance of remarkable precision and energy, merging Western percussion innovation with Eastern orchestral tradition.
