Visual Communication BFA 2002 Alumnus Andrew Zolty Art Dubai Solo Presentation

April 23, 2025 Written by CAS Staff

The response to BREAKFAST’s solo presentation at Art Dubai has been truly unprecedented. Many have called it the highlight of the entire fair, drawing thousands to the showcase each day. BREAKFAST unveiled seven pieces last week in Dubai, including the 7-meter-wide “Carbon Wake,” positioned at the entrance of the fair. “Carbon Wake” is a kinetic sculpture that visualizes how cities around the world are transitioning toward cleaner energy. Each minute, the piece selects a new city and transforms its real-time energy data (compiled by AI) into flowing motion—rising dramatically when fossil fuels dominate, and settling calmly as renewable energy sources take the lead. The sculpture mirrors you as you approach—its surface reflecting your presence in the data it brings to life.
