Annual campus event features insights on mental fitness and a mid-semester study break
University of Delaware students hosted Brain Awareness Week on March 16–20, an annual celebration of brain science held during the third week of March. The week featured several events organized by registered student organizations.
A highlight of the week included a special study break on March 17 for all students, hosted by the UD chapter of Nu Rho Psi, the neuroscience honor society. The break allowed students to connect with peers and focus on coursework during the mid-semester exam period.
On March 18, Active Minds at UD—part of a national student-based mental health advocacy program—hosted a presentation by John Groth titled “What does a mentally fit person look like?”
Groth is an adjunct faculty member in the UD College of Health Sciences, where he teaches “The Art of Happiness” and other wellness courses. A retired U.S. Air Force Reserve chaplain, Groth also serves as a retreat speaker.
