Biography

Mahtab Shafiei (Ph.D., University of New Mexico, 2024) joined the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Delaware in 2024. Her research examines how armed conflict, geopolitical instability and international institutions shape the behavior and responsibilities of states, firms and other actors. Her work focuses particularly on international intervention and peacebuilding, corporate responsibility in conflict settings, business and human rights, and the broader political and societal consequences of geopolitical disruption. She also has research and teaching expertise in international relations, international political economy, international law, terrorism, environmental politics and international business.

International Relations; International Political Economy; Peace and Conflict; International Institutions; Business and Society; Corporate Responsibility and Human Rights.
