The University of Delaware Blue Hens recognized the research of two UD researchers who are investigating the relationship between stigma and mental health. Associate Professor Valerie Earnshaw and Professor Jean-Philippe Laurenceau received awards on Saturday afternoon during the One UD Moment of UD’s home football game at Delaware Stadium. Interim President Laura Carlson and Interim Athletic Director Jordan Skolnick presented the professors with mini-framed jerseys.

In conjunction with faculty at the University of Connecticut, Earnshaw and Laurenceau played critical roles in developing an article to outline a time-based research agenda to improve scientists’ ability to understand and address stigma to improve health. Their research was published in Stigma and Health, an official American Psychological Association (APA) journal.
