Biography
Andrés León Araya, Ph.D., is an associate professor with the Department of Anthropology at the University of Delaware. He is a social anthropologist who teaches courses on war, state violence, food and storytelling.
Dual-trained as a political scientist and anthropologist, he earned his Ph.D. from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY). His research examines the intersections of plantation economies, organized violence, militarization and state formation in Central America.
