Center for Global & Area Studies
Join the global village
The Center for Global and Area Studies at the University of Delaware promotes global awareness and fosters an academic community that is increasingly connected to the "global village." As a hub for global learning, we bring together faculty whose expertise spans disciplines and world regions. In addition to transnational and global issues, our academic programs enable undergraduate students to rigorously study Africa, Asia, Europe, the Islamic World, the Jewish diaspora, and Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula.
Why Global and Area Studies at UD?
- The World Economic Forum (WEF) underscores the increasing demand for professionals with cross-cultural competence, geopolitical awareness, and a deep understanding of global issues.
- Roles in sustainable development, environmental policy, and corporate social responsibility are increasingly relevant.
- Graduates in global studies or international studies can explore diverse career paths, including roles in international organizations like the United Nations, multinational corporations, non-governmental organizations focused on development and humanitarian aid, and government agencies involved in foreign affairs and trade policy.
