Departmental Credit Evaluation
Credits transferring from post-secondary institutions will be given a generic elective status, such as MATH 166T or ACCT 166T. These electives may count in your overall degree credits, but generally they will not count towards specific degree requirements.
In order to determine whether your courses may be applied towards specific degree requirements, you must have them evaluated for UD course equivalency by supplying the following information:
- Your name, UDSIS ID number and major at your home institution(s).
- Official course descriptions from the home institution's catalog/website that contain:
- the course number, title and number of credits
- a description of the topics or areas covered in the course.
If the course description is too vague or general, also provide a syllabus. If we find the description unclear, we will request a syllabus and/or additional material from you.
Our policy is to base course evaluations on documentation from official university documents, such as catalogs and/or syllabi, in the original language. When this is a language other than English, we also require certified English translations of these documents.
Only admitted students that have earned and transferred credits to UD may pursue re-evaluation - third-parties, parents, etc. may not pursue re-evaluation of coursework.
Course information should be submitted to Charlene Bradley by one of the following methods:
- E-mail: email@example.com
- Fax: (302) 831-3005
- Mail: Room 129 University Visitors Center, 210 S. College Ave., Newark, DE 19716
