Take College Courses While Still in High School: Qualified high school students have the opportunity to pursue University of Delaware courses through the Division of Professional and Continuing Studies. Also available is dual enrollment, where students currently earn University of Delaware and high school credits.
Reading Skills Programs: Programs for students of all levels designed to help them become stronger readers and better students by focusing on comprehension, reading speed, study skills and reading enjoyment.
SAT and ACT Test Preparation Programs: Designed to help prepare for success in two of the most widely used standardized college entrance exams: the ACT and the SAT.
Edge: A 5-week residential summer school program for academically motivated high school sophomores and juniors
Governor's School for Excellence: This is a one-week summer residential program that brings together academically and artistically talented Delaware high school students who have completed their sophomore year.
FAME/UNITE/MERIT/UD: A 4-week residential program to increase the participation of minorities in engineering and other science professions.
Upward Bound Classic: A free pre-college program for those eligible in the New Castle County, Delaware area which emphasizes preparing students for academic success, leadership growth, and college planning
Upward Bound Math & Science: A pre-college TRIO program for eligible students from Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, with an emphasis in the fields of math and science.
Expand your global perspective by participating in a UD Study Abroad program. The Institute for Global Studies coordinates more than 70 programs annually, with a specialization in short term, faculty-led programs. Courses are available from an array of disciplines and fulfill a variety of requirements. Semester-long and exchange programs are also available for students looking to gain more cultural immersion and, if relevant to their course of study, greater language acquisition. The Office of Service Learning provides a central location for information about service learning and community engagement opportunities at the University of Delaware. It supports and advises faculty interested in enhancing and developing service learning courses, students interested in pursuing community engagement projects and community partners interested in exploring connections with UD.
