Justice N. Christopher Griffiths


The Honorable N. Christopher Griffiths was sworn in for his first term as Justice of the Supreme Court of Delaware on May 22, 2023. Prior to his appointment, Justice Griffiths was a partner at Connolly Gallagher LLP where his practice focused on administrative and government law, corporate and commercial litigation, bankruptcy law and general litigation representing municipalities and government agencies. Before joining the court, Justice Griffiths served on the Delaware Supreme Court Rules Committee, the Delaware Supreme Court Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection, and the Delaware State Bar Association Nominating Committee.

Justice Griffiths received his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware and earned his law degree from the Villanova University School of Law.

In addition to his legal work, Justice Griffiths served on the boards of the Boys & Girls Club of Delaware, Children & Families First of Delaware, Ministry of Caring, Sacred Heart Village, the Wilmington Library, and the Delaware Law Related Education Center.

Significant changes have been made to Federal financial aid for law students.  This workshop will help prospective students plan for law school.  This session will focus on changes to the annual Federal Student Loan limit, changes to the lifetime limit, third-party loan options, and the importance of financial literacy.

    Sara is a senior honors history major with minors in European studies and philosophy. She has interned with Delaware Community Legal Aid Society Inc., Delaware Volunteer Legal Services, and externed at the Delaware Family Court. Through these experiences, Sara developed a strong interest in public interest advocacy and constitutional interpretation.

  • Wendy M. Goldberg

    Current Position: General Counsel at Erebor Bank

    Specialization: Bank regulatory law, financial services regulation

     

    Wendy advises banking and financial services clients on complex regulatory matters and represents them before federal agencies, including the Federal Reserve and the FDIC. She practiced for more than 20 years at Sullivan & Cromwell and offers students interested in corporate law or financial regulation insight into careers in highly regulated industries.

  • Jordan Groves

    Current position: senior, University of Delaware

    Undergraduate degree: biology

    Law school: Fall 2026

    Specialization: Intellectual Property and Patent Law

     

    Jordan, a senior Biology major at the University of Delaware, interned for the Biden Institute of Public Administration at the New Castle County Court of Chancery and currently serves as a paralegal intern at a personal injury and medical malpractice firm in Philadelphia. Jordan plans to pursue a career in intellectual property and patent law this fall.

  • Cynthia Jones

    Current position: Professor of Law, American University Washington College of Law

    Undergraduate degree: criminal justice (UD) '86

    Specialization: Criminal law, evidence, wrongful convictions, racial disparities in the legal system

     

    Professor Jones teaches courses in Evidence, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Race, Crime and Politics. Her scholarship focuses on wrongful convictions, discovery reform, and eliminating cash bail. Prior to academia, she clerked on the D.C. Court of Appeals, practiced privately, and served as a staff attorney at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.

  • Maria Kontis

    Current position: Deputy Attorney General & General Counsel, Delaware Department of Transportation DMV Division

    Undergraduate degree: neuroscience, minor in philosophy (UD) '18 BS

    Law school: Widener University Delaware Law School (JD, cum laude)

    Specialization: Administrative law, regulatory compliance, licensing, civil and administrative litigation

     

    Maria advises the DMV on regulatory and statutory matters and handles administrative and civil litigation. She previously clerked for the Delaware Superior Court and was promoted to assistant unit head of the Public Safety Unit in 2025.

  • Mauri Leroux

    Current position: Legal Assistant, Stevens & Lee
    Undergraduate degree: public policy (minors in public health and medical humanities) '25 BSPA

    Specialization: Bioethics, biomedical innovation, public health law

     

    Mauri works with both complex litigation and financial institutions teams while preparing to apply to law school. Her interest in combining law and public health reflects the growing interdisciplinary field and offers insight for students considering gap years or dual-degree programs.

  • Andrew L. Milam

    Andrew focuses his practice on corporate litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery and Delaware Supreme Court, including governance, control and fiduciary disputes. He clerked for Justice James T. Vaughn Jr. of the Delaware Supreme Court and earned a B.A. in music from the University of Delaware and a J.D., summa cum laude, from William & Mary Law School, where he was a member of their law review.

  • Georgia Moore

    Law School: Roger Williams University School of Law

     

    Georgia Moore is a first-year law student at Roger Williams University School of Law. She graduated from the University of Delaware in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and sociology.  Georgia is actively involved in several student organizations,  the Justinian (Italian-American) Law Society, Quahogs and the Women’s Law Society. Upon graduation, Georgia aspires to serve as a judicial law clerk before transitioning into private practice.

  • Erin Newman

    Lindsey joined UD in 2025, overseeing financial strategy, facilities, computing, HR, and operations. She previously served as Director of Finance at the Annenberg School for Communication at UPenn. Her work demonstrates non-traditional career paths combining law, finance, and higher education leadership.

  • Jeffrey Zavrotny

    Zavrotny has 25 years of higher education admissions experience, including 16 as assistant dean for law admissions at the University of Baltimore. He also worked as an Oracle PeopleSoft consultant on university enrollment systems and offers guidance on admissions and financing legal education.
