Brandy Watts
Brandy Watts serves as the Director of Winterthur Library. She draws on fifteen years of experience working with specialized research libraries, archives, and natural history collections, including The William and Lynda Steere Herbarium, The LuEsther T. Mertz Library, The California Botanic Garden Herbarium and Library, the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden Library, the Botanical Research Institute of Texas Library, and the Alaska Resources Library & Information Services. Brandy has been instrumental to a number of National Science Foundation and Andrew W. Mellon Foundation funded projects such as Global Plants Initiative, The Plants of the Caribbean, Engaging Our Future to Preserve Our Past; Collections in Support of Biological Research, Advancing the Extended Specimen Network: Curating and Digitizing the Sherwin Carlquist Collection as well as served as Principal Investigator on both federal and state grants. In 2017, she published The Field Photographs of Alain H. Liogier; Plants of Hispaniola, Dominican Republic,1968-1969 through New York Botanical Garden Press.
