Operational Details

Referral process

Clients of the ICMH-Clinic at UD may self-refer or be referred by healthcare providers, community agencies, or school staff. Once a referral is received, the clinic coordinator conducts a brief phone screen to gather initial information and determine appropriateness for services. Cases are then assigned based on clinician availability, waitlist priority, and client preferences.

Intake process

All clients begin with a free intake session, which allows us to evaluate clinical fit and service needs. Following the intake, the assigned clinician consults with their supervisor to determine whether ICMH-Clinic is an appropriate setting for care before proceeding with therapy or assessment.

Clinical supervision

Services provided by trainees are closely supervised to ensure high-quality, ethical care. Each trainee receives approximately one hour of supervision per client from one of our five licensed clinical psychologists. Supervisors review documentation, guide case conceptualization, and provide ongoing feedback.

Charting & documentation

All clinical documentation is completed using our secure electronic health record system and encrypted file storage. Progress notes are expected to be submitted to supervisors within 48 hours. Clients receive a written treatment plan by the fourth session, and all reports follow standardized templates and supervisor review protocols.
