One activity is a special call for the campus community to take the “Water Walk Challenge.” Many people throughout the world must walk nearly four miles to access water, and then must carry the heavy water back with them.

Individuals can simulate that experience by completing a 3.7-mile loop around campus or near their homes. To learn more and participate, visit the Water Walk Challenge website.

Those not up for a walk and anyone else can still participate by taking a pledge to conserve water and become an H2O Keeper.

Geography Awareness Week organizers will be at Trabant University Center on Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with free gifts and information about the Water Walk Challenge for anyone up to the task.

Those unable to stop by Trabant that day can also visit the event website or the Department of Geography in 216 Pearson Hall all week for more information and water facts and tips.

For more information, visit the Department of Geography and the Delaware Geographic Alliance websites.
