April 7: 'WVUDstock' concert

UD radio station sets event featuring local bands

10:04 a.m., March 21, 2011--“WVUDstock,” the annual Radiothon concert of University of Delaware radio station WVUD-FM 91.3, will be held Thursday, April 7. The event will feature local bands Common Room, Stallions, Clear For Takeoff and Lower Case Blues.

The Woodstock-themed concert will begin at 7 p.m. that evening in the Multipurpose Rooms of the Trabant University Center. The doors will open at 6:30.

April 23-May 10: 'The 39 Steps'

The University of Delaware Resident Ensemble Players will present "Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps" from April 23 through May 10 at the Roselle Center for the Arts.

April 27: Free speech/hate speech

Space is still available in the special half-day symposium at UD that will explore the complexities of free speech, the hurtful impact of hate speech and ways to balance privilege with the rights of others. Advance registration is required.

Tickets are $5 for students with University ID and $8 for non-students, and are available at all UD ticket offices.

WVUD will hold the concert as a part of its annual radiothon fundraising week, which will be held from April 1-10.

The bands Common Room and Stallions are from Newark, Clear For Takeoff is from Baltimore and Lower Case Blues is from Rehoboth Beach, Del.

Also performing will be the Rubber Chickens, a campus improv comedy group.
