Expo to be held at UD's Bob Carpenter Center

11:46 a.m., March 28, 2011--A free Green and Healthy Living Expo will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 9, at the University of Delaware’s Bob Carpenter Center.

The event is being organized by Clear Channel in cooperation with the Delaware Energy Office and the Energy Services Group and is designed to help members of the community “save money, save the environment (and) live well.”

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

Participating organizations include the Delaware Energy Office, Energy Services Group, CMI Solar, General Nutrition Center, Harvest Market, NaturaLawn of America, Partnership for the Delaware Estuary, Smarthome and Standard Solar.

East Coast Shredding will provide free shredding of up to two file boxes of sensitive documents and there will be recycling stations for household batteries, plastic bags, eyeglasses, cell phones and ink cartridges.
