11:52 a.m., Feb. 16, 2011----Newark Police are investigating two robberies that occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 15 -- one in the morning at TD Bank on East Delaware Avenue and the other in the evening at Blockbuster Video in the College Square Shopping Center.

TD Bank

At 8:47 a.m., a man presented a note at the TD Bank demanding money and implying that he had a gun. After receiving an undisclosed amount of currency, he fled the bank.

He is described as 45 to 55 years old, approximately 6 feet tall, unshaven, wearing a black hooded jacket, dark gloves, tan fisherman's hat, gray sweat pants, white shoes and eye glasses. He was carrying a red or pink bag.

He may have driven away in a 1997-2004 two-door, white Dodge Dakota pickup, displaying a white rear license plate and an American flag sticker on the rear tailgate.

Blockbuster Video

At 9:25 p.m., a man entered the Blockbuster Video and displayed a small silver metal rod in a threatening manner. He demanded cash from a store employee, received an undisclosed amount of money and then fled the store, entered a car and was last seen fleeting the shopping center toward Marrows Road.

The suspect is described as 50 to 60 years old, 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a medium build, green eyes and a goatee. He was wearing a black winter hat, green jacket, blue jeans and black gloves. The vehicle is described as an older model dark gray four-door vehicle.
