1:06 p.m., Oct. 5, 2009----Elon Musk, the chairman, CEO and product architect of Tesla Motors, will make a presentation Thursday, Nov. 5, as part of the University of Delaware Presidential Lecture Series. Musk will speak at 4 p.m. in the Gore Recital Hall of the Roselle Center for the Arts.

Seating for the event is limited. To register, see the Web site. Also, the lecture will be Webcast live and will be available at UD's Second Life island.

Musk is overseeing product development and design of Tesla vehicles, including the all-electric Tesla Roadster and Model S sedan.

He also serves as CEO and CTO of Space Exploration Technologies, which develops rockets and spacecraft for missions to Earth's orbit and beyond.

Prior to SpaceX, Musk co-founded PayPal, the world's leading Internet payment system, and served as chairman and CEO. He also co-founded Zip2, a provider of Internet software to the media industry.

In 2007, Musk was recognized as the recipient of Research and Development Magazine's Innovator of the Year Award, and also was named Inc. Magazine's Entrepreneur of the Year. He received the 2007-2008 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics award for the greatest contribution to the field of space transportation.
