Located in the space formerly occupied by the Pencader Fitness Center on the lower level of the Pencader building, P.O.D. Market combines the convenience of a corner store with the style of a modern market, featuring grab 'n go dining options for breakfast, lunch or any time of day, including: breakfast sandwiches, burritos, wraps and salads, as well as natural and organic meal options, fresh produce, coffee selections and traditional essentials found in a convenience store.

“Our research told us students were looking for convenience, variety, quality and value,” said Ryan Boyer, marketing director for Dining Services/ARAMARK. “Based on their input, we were able to customize the P.O.D. Market with items students want.”

Speaking at the opening, Margot Carroll, associate vice president for auxiliary services, said, “It's a concept that meets the demand of students - fresh, healthy convenient grab 'n go dining options.

“There's a lot of variety, convenience and quality -- you'll see the quality when you look at the items,” Carroll said. “There are more vegan and vegetarian options, a whole stand of organic produce and pre-made single serve entrees, which we haven't had before.”

David Tusio, president of the StUDent Government Association, said, “I've always heard students are looking for more options. This is a great thing for the University, the students and the future. The new generation is on a health kick, and this is taking us in the right direction.”

P.O.D. Market is open 8 a.m.-2 a.m., Monday-Friday, and 1 p.m.-1 a.m., Saturday and Sunday. It offers all of the options that were available in the now-closed Christiana Market, including Scoops, and much more. Limited seating adds convenience for students looking to grab a quick meal. The Express 'to-go' meal swipe option was moved into P.O.D. Market from its previous location outside of the Pencader dining room. It will remain available Monday through Thursday, from 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
