The first is part of the “Great Colleges to Work For” program, sponsored by The Chronicle of Higher Education. This survey was distributed via email on March 22.

The second is a Delaware-based survey for the “Best in Business 2010,” sponsored by the News Journal. It will be distributed later in April.

Both surveys are being distributed via email to a random sample of the University of Delaware's full-time faculty and staff.

“If you receive an email invitation to participate, please take a moment to complete the survey,” J.J. Davis, vice president for administration, said. “You will be representing not only yourself, but all your colleagues, so I encourage you to take the time to share your feedback. Your participation and honest feedback are critical to the assessment process.”

The responses to the surveys will be kept confidential and will not be able to be traced back to any one individual. Both surveys are being conducted by independent research companies.

Each survey is set up to prevent multiple responses from a single person, so please do not forward any survey email to a colleague.

The University will receive summarized responses to the questions that will help further the institution's pursuit of excellence as part of the Path to ProminenceTM.
