11:01 a.m., June 11, 2010----Matthew Brink has been named director of the University of Delaware's Bank of America Career Services Center, it was announced today by Dawn Thompson, UD dean of students and associate vice president for student life.

Brink, who will start at UD on Aug. 2, has 22 years of experience in the career services field and currently serves as director of the Career Development Center at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia.

"We are excited to have Matthew join the University of Delaware and lead our career services. He will be an outstanding addition to the Student Life Directors Leadership Team and we are confident he will make an immediate and substantial contribution to our efforts to enhance the career services offered to students," Thompson said. "I also want to thank Steve Sciscione for his leadership of the Career Services Center during the interim. I know Steve will continue to make significant and valuable contributions to the department."

"Matthew is a highly respected leader in career services. He brings a wealth of experience and is well respected by employers in the Middle Atlantic region. UD students and alumni will be well served by his commitment to all constituencies," said Sciscione, associate director of the center who has been serving as interim director since the retirement of Edgar “Jack” Townsend on Dec. 31, 2009.

Before his work at St. Joseph's, Brink served as associate director of the Career Development Office at Bryn Mawr College and Haverford College, and as acting assistant director of the Career Planning and Placement Office at Swarthmore College

Brink has a master of science degree in counseling and human relations from Villanova University and a bachelor of arts in communications from Messiah College and Temple University.
