Known for his young adult books, including Feed and the Octavian Nothing series, the first volume of which won the 2006 National Book Award for Young People, Anderson will be stopping by while on his book tour for the release of his newest book, Jasper Dash and the Flame-Pits of Delaware, the third thriller in a series aimed at elementary school children.

The new book depicts the First State with towering mountains, icky squid monsters and levitating monks, as Jasper Dash, Boy Technonaut, and his pals return to explore “exotic Delaware” in search of a ruthless band of art thieves who are plundering valuable artifacts from the monastery of Vbngoom, hidden in a mountain range in northern Delaware.

The visit will consist of Anderson speaking, a question-and-answer session, and an autograph session.

The appearance is co-sponsored by the Education Resource Center (a division of the Delaware Center for Teacher Education), the IRA Student Literacy Council of UD, the Reading Council of Northern Delaware, the Delaware School Library Media Association, and the Center for the Book at the Delaware Division of Libraries.
