8:03 a.m., Feb. 5, 2010----The 24th annual Women's History Month film series, “Women's History, Women's Lives,” will be held Tuesday evenings, Feb. 23 through March 23, in Room 204 Kirkbride Hall. Films will begin at 7 p.m.

Each film will be followed by a discussion led by a speaker with expertise in the film's subject matter. The film series is free and open to the public. For more information, call 831-8063 or 831-8474, or download a PDF with details about the series.

The film series is sponsored by the Black American Studies Program; Center for Black Culture; departments of anthropology, history and sociology; Faculty Senate; Committee on Cultural Activities and Public Events; LGBT Community Office; Office of Equity and Inclusion; Student Health Service; Wellspring; and the Women's Studies Program.

The films are as follows:

Feb. 23 -- “Pray the Devil Back to Hell,” with speaker Gretchen Bauer, professor and chairperson of the Department of Political Science and International Relations.

March 2 - “Made in LA,” with speaker Elizabeth Higginbotham, professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice.”

March 9 - “Training Rules,” with speakers Kim Musheno, director of legislative affairs with the Association of University Centers on Disabilities, and Roslyn Quarto, partner in Quarto Lopez LLP and former director of operations for Gay Games.

March 16 - “Who Does She Think She Is?” with speaker Colette Gaiter, associate professor in the Department of Art.

March 23 - “Girls Rock!” with a speaker to be announced.
