12:40 p.m., Aug. 4, 2009----The University of Delaware's Department of Computer and Information Sciences will hold its third Computer Science Research Day from 9:45 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Sept. 21, in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant University Center.

The event will feature research poster presentations by UD CIS graduate students, a lively panel discussion with invited guests, tours of research laboratories, and a computer science Jeopardy game.

Prasad Jayanti, a UD CIS alumnus and professor in the Department of Computer Science at Dartmouth College, will deliver the keynote address, “My Experiences with Concurrent Algorithms Research.”

The panel is moderated by Lori Pollock, professor of computer and information sciences, and will consider the topic “Which Doors Can My Ph.D. Open?” Panelists are all graduates of the UD computer and information sciences program. They are: Kathleen McCoy, professor of computer and information sciences at UD; Stephanie Elzer, associate professor of computer science at Millersville University; Janardhan Iyengar, assistant professor in computer science at Franklin and Marshall College; and Mani Thomas, a researcher at Canfield Scientific.
