9:55 a.m., May 1, 2009----Dashiell Hammett's classic The Maltese Falcon will be presented as a radio play by The Big Read at 10 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, in the Pool Room of the Hartshorn Theatre, Academy Street and East Park Place, on UD's Newark campus.

The one hour and 20 minute performance is free and open to the public. Professional Theatre Training Program alums in the play include Michael Boudewyns (1992), Lynn Berg (2003), Luis Galindo (2007) and Sara Valentine (2007).

The Big Read is an initiative of the Delaware Division of Libraries and the National Endowment for the Arts designed to restore reading to the center of American culture.
