1 p.m., May 26, 2009----The University of Delaware Library announces that its Interlibrary Loan service has sent materials to 49 states during the 2008-2009 academic year, with North Dakota the only state not sent any loans or articles.

During the same period, Interlibrary Loan has obtained materials from 49 states for the University of Delaware faculty, students, and staff. No items were borrowed from South Dakota.

UD faculty, staff, and students have received books and articles from around the world, including from Australia, Colombia, China, Ireland, the Netherlands, South Africa and Spain.

University of Delaware Library materials have traveled to the Bahamas, Croatia, Israel, Italy, New Zealand, Scotland, Sweden, Turkey and many other countries.

Also, Interlibrary Loan staff have corresponded with libraries around the world in English, Spanish, German, French, Dutch, and Welsh.

A colorful world map has been mounted in the Interlibrary Loan office. The map highlights the locations throughout the world with which Interlibrary Loan staff have interacted.

The University of Delaware has established various types of resource sharing agreements with libraries in more than 35 states, as well as several libraries each in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
